pink fish scales

I've had a couple nail art fails this week so I did a simple design for today. I used Konad over a bright pink and I really like how it turned out. Weirdly my right hand turned out better than my left so that's the one I photographed.
Here's the polishes I used:
Sally Hansen double duty base coat
L.A colors color craze bright pink
Orly razzle
Konad plate m57
N.Y.C top coat
Happy painting!

Introducing.... Luna!!

Here is the brand new addition to the cast of A girl and her chicken named Betty. A cockatiel named Luna! She is very excited to be a part of the blog. There was a lengthy photo shoot and she had lots of fun posing and hopping around all over my chair. Luna's talents include being able to say pretty bird, wolf whistle, make kissy sounds and she has a song she likes to sing but no one knows what song it is. She loves nibbling on computer cords so sadly she can't help with writing posts. But she shall be an inspiration to my crafting and painting.
Welcome to the blog Luna!

chinese characters nails

I just bought a couple of t-shirts with element related (earth, wind, fire, air) things on them and I wanted to try something like that on my nails. These are the actual Chinese symbols, the one on the thumb means boat, the index finger grass, the middle finger sand, the ring finger water, and my pinky fire. I really love the color of this red polish but it drys so fast it doesn't go on smoothly after the first coat. I don't know if that's because I've had it a year or that it's just a fussy polish.
Here are the polishes I used:
Maybelline New york Express finish Red comet
Sally Hansen double duty base coat
L.A colors art deco black and
N.Y.C top coat

black and pink corset nails

I've been meaning to try a corset related design for a while but I hadn't decided on what sort of colors I would use. So I painted it in pink and black today for pink Wednesday and I really like how it came out. If I did this again I'd do smaller stripes, because on the pinky's the pink doesn't show that much, because there's so much black.
Here's the polishes I used:
Sally Hansen base coat
Color Workshop pink
L.A colors art deco black
L.A colors art deco grey
N.Y.C top coat
Happy painting!

zombie bride dress

One of my favorite thrift stores is closing and they're having a 75% off sale on all the clothes, shoes, and purses. I've been eying wedding dresses for months because I'm planning on being a zombie bride for Halloween. This one was originally 30 dollars but I got it for 7$! I'm very excited to wear it and get all my zombie makeup on with it. And surprisingly the dress isn't big on me, it fits just right. It's so sad that these beautiful dresses that cost thousands of dollars end up in thrift stores for next to nothing just because of one little stain. And my dress as far as I can tell is pristine.
Sorry about my sideways pictures, Blogger is fighting with Picasa and I think Blogger won.
Hopefully my next post will have right side up photos. Pickedresses Prom dresses Canada

pink fish

I stamped pink fish (I think they are guppies) onto a silvery blue for today's pink Wednesday. When I bought this Pure ice polish it looked blue in the bottle but its mostly silver on my nails. It seems like most blue polishes look totally different out of the bottle.
I used Konad plate m27 and here are the polishes I used:
Orly razzle
Pure ice A- list
Sally hansen double duty base coat
N.Y.C top coatn

olive nails

I've painted olives! I tried to get the little x's on the bottom but sadly my lines came out a little to thick. I used L.A colors art deco for the grey and L.A colors color craze black velvet. I also used Sally Hansen double duty base coat and N.Y.C top coat. I think I'm going to redo this in green and add in pimentos for extra oliveyness.
Happy painting!
